Mother's Day 2014

Ah Mother's Day, alway a challenge to make something small but memorable for mom. This year I made paper flowers complete in a pot with some truffles along with a card with also with a butterfly on it to go with the flower. I got the cutting file for the flower in pot from the Silhouette online store.

Bookmarks

So a client asked me for some bookmarks that she want to give to friends. And I was puzzled, how to make personalized bookmarks with Maralyn Monroe quotes on. It took me over week of searching Pinterest and looking at ideas as inspiration for this task on hand, however came out on top with something I thought was so great and that I ended up making as birthday gifts to all my friends. It is small enough to fit in an padded envelope along with a card and into the post.

I used my Silhouette Cameo to cut them all out, printed the quote on vellum, then stiched it all together. Added some sequence  before sticking the back piece on which hides all the stitching and rounds it all off. I ended up with a shaker bookmark all in white, craft and a touch of silver, as this was the colours of her decor for the evening.

Here are some pictures of these bookmarks.

Mini Friends Album

This is a mini album I made on request from one friend to another, with a special measage at the back.  It's made from one sheet of 12x12 cardstock and the finished size was 3" x 2".

Thanks Tumi, you always give me ideas and inspiration to make something special either for yourself or as gift to someone special!

Distress Ink Storage Unit

From frames to canvasses, now for something different.

I saw this Distressed Ink Storage Unit on a blog and just had to try my hand in making one for myself.  With this I can have all my Distressed Inks together in a nifty rotating unit.  Credit to Jenny Potter {http://ozegran.blogspot.com.au/2012/09/distress-ink-storage-unit-finished.html.} for putting together the measurements on how to assemble this, which can be found by following this link. This was indeed a project I enjoyed thoroughly and had to finish it all in one weekend.  Here is my take on Jenny's storage unit.

PS: those 2 gorgeous faces sticking out from the bottom picture are our gorgeous Bassets, Mollie & Wors {male & female}. Worsie is one in the back looking sorry for himself.

Stil on the frames

So from photo frames to canvases, these are two almos identical canvases that I have made for friends.  A co-worker / friend of mine came up with the idea and this was my final results, my mother liked it so much that she asked me to make another for a friend and one for herself as well {which is still not quite finished as she is still indecisive about the scripture that she wants on her canvas}.

Frames

So I came across two more altered frames that I have made in the last year.  Both for baby girls.
